Standard Maintenance for Fall Pool
With Summer coming to a close, the summer swim season is also coming to a close. As Fall
approaches, it is time to plan for what is next for your pool. Here are some routine procedures
that will set your pool up for success.
Fall Treatments:
Fall Phosphate Treatments
· Phosphates are the food source for algae. If you eliminate the food source, you eliminate the potential for algae
Fall Filter Cleans
· Pressure in your filter rises as dirt, debris and contaminants are captured inside. Cleaning your filter after a long summer swim season is vital to maintain the integrity of your equipment
Winter/Spring:
Pool Draining
· Draining your pool is recommended once every 3 years. It is very important to make sure the water in your pool remains fresh. This will ensure TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) levels stay low, chemicals aren't dramatically out of balance and have a fresh start if there were any previous chemical imbalance
Chemical Treatments
· Acid Wash:
o This specialized treatment will lift a very thin layer of dirt from your pool surface, revitalizing your pools interior, making it fresh and clean
· Chlorine Bath:
o This specialized treatment will kill any surface algae you might have had before draining your cool. This treatment Is best utilized for a green pool that needs to be professionally cleaned back to clear.
· Tile Cleaning:
o This treatment will clean the tile line, where the water level has left a calcium ring around the perimeter of the pool. A common misconception is an acid wash can do this, but that is not the case. Professional tile cleaning is the most efficient procedure to revitalize your pools tile
Spring:
Spring Phosphate Treatment
· This seasonal procedure is intended to drop the phosphate levels moving into the summer swim season. This will set you up for a successful summer
Spring Filter Clean
· This will maximize the full capacity of your filter, moving into the summer swim season
With these seasonal procedures addressed regularly, your pool will remain in tip top shape year
round. That means more fun and more memories to be made with you and your loved ones.
Safe swimming!
